Public Events
We host a variety of public events each year and hope you will join us to discover the Arboretum for different seasonal and learning opportunities. Our events are always free and great for families! Below are examples of our typical annual events, but please follow us on social media for more details on current events, or contact us if you have an interest or idea for a public event!
Open House
We often host open house events that allow visitors to explore the full arboretum at your own pace. Volunteers are present to provide information on specific areas and plants so you can learn about what interests you. Open houses often take place in the spring and fall. These are a great way to get to know us and enjoy all that we have to offer!
Butterfly Day
Each August, we host this event in our Pollinator Garden and Wildlife Garden for people to experience the blooms and butterflies in these areas, with our volunteers providing information and demonstrations of caterpillars, chrysalises, and butterflies native to our area!
Spring Wildflower Feature
Our Stumpery garden that features native wildflowers is at its peak in early spring and is a very special sight! We try to host an event each year when this area is in bloom.
Pruning Day
This event takes place in late winter/early spring and provides teaching on how to prune trees, shrubs, and small fruits.
